View of the day-Something is missing from the General's load.

It was an early morning...we had a lot of miles to cover, getting things moved around. First in the list was to get the General unhooked from the trailer so we could get it into town for a tire fix. One tire had popped the bead and was free wheeling on the rim...the inside dual on the same axle, and side had gone flat, so they both had to be fixed.

We got to the tire shop and they got us in right away but had to wait until they took them off, so we went over to the Skyline for eggs. When we got back they had discovered that the sidewalls were shot on both tires so we had to get new ones. Fortunately they had two there, so they would be able to get them on right away.

While the tires were getting put on we had time to go back and get the combine unloaded and moved out to the farm. Oh, yes...one thing is for certain in the harvesting business...nothing is cast in stone. Yesterday, we had no work in the area and had plans to move everything to Balcarres, the next thing you know, we have some canola to do in Carlyle...time to retool, so hence the unloading of the combine.

While Marilyn was roading the combine, Kim gave Al a ride over to the tire shop, then he took it back to the combine trailer where Marilyn met him...just in time to finish hooking up the trailer. We moved it out to the farm, then hooked up the straight header on the trailer so we could get it moved next.

We stopped at the house to check in, then started north to stop in Whitewook at the Agco dealer, then forged on to Balcarres, where we got the header parked and checked out the campground situation. After a chat with Bob, the farmer, we headed back for Carlyle...via Yorkton.

Once we got to Yorkton we stopped to drop some cargo off for someone who had some stuff shipped to our USA connection, then we went out to our house where Al had to test out the bed and check his eyelids for cracks. After that job was done, we hooked up the pickup header and trailer, then started the trip back to Carlyle...with no more via points.

Tomorrow, we might take the Freight and its load to Yorkton...nothing like driving...
