View of the day-Ready to leave Carlyle, yet again.

We decided around midnight last night that if we kept on driving, we would just end up waiting at the Canadian border until they opened, so we packed it in and got a room at Selby. After all, 700 miles was a pretty good day of driving.

We got up to a cloudy, wet day, it was rainy and misty most of way through North Dakota. It looked like they had a lot of moisture over the last little while and we even had a drive through water that was covering the road just south of Minot.
Good thing we didn’t decide to drive all the way because that would have been quite a surprise in the dark…it was bad enough going through it in the daylight.

We got to the border and sailed through without any issues, then carried on to Carlyle.  Before we went out to get the header and trailer, we filled the slip tank for the trip back.  Gordie had gotten the trailer pulled out from it’s winter spot out by the bins and had given it the once over…no flats and the tires were in premium shape.  We hooked up, checked the lights…most of them were working and we were mostly turning left, anyway…and it was time to point south and start driving.

Another uneventful drive, the sun was shining for the most part and the wind wasn’t a hindrance, which was nice.  Once we got north of Bismarck, the clouds came back, but there wasn’t anything falling out of these ones. Tonight’s destination is Gettysburg, SD and it is only 50 miles away, which will give us a 750 mile day today.

Tomorrow will be short…only 680 miles…
